St. Mark's on the Web

Our Photo Album...

"Some of our members enjoying a walk in the labyrinth, an ancient method of prayer, meditation, and pilgrimage."

"The walk way into our community."

"Parishioner Kitty McKee delights in caring for Saint Mark's many gardens -- and she always welcomes other volunteers!"

"The altar at Saint Mark's is the architectural center of our common life. From this table where we share Holy Communion, all our many other activities take their meaning. Our worship space is elegant in its simplicty, with natural wood and natural light encouraging us to focus on the Word at the heart of our worship and on the presence of our neighbors gathered with us to praise God in the beauty of holiness."

"Recently, our Saint Mark's community celebrated an important event: we became a PARISH! Although a vibrant church for many years as a mission, in January of 2000, we became a self-supporting community ready for new challenges and FUN too! This picture was taken in Christ Cathedral, downtown Nashville, during the 168th Annual Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Tennessee on the day marking our first as a Parish. "

"In keeping with the festive nature of becoming a Parish, we gathered to celebrate our new beginning and share some recipes."

"We enjoy our time together. The food's pretty good as well :-)"

"Becoming a Parish was very important to the entire church. Some of our community sit to reflect on our accomplishments and the bright future ahead."

"Getting together to share experiences and fellowship is an integral part of what makes Saint Mark's special."

"Behind this puppet theater at our Talent Show, Saint Mark's young people are pulling the strings and moving the sock-mouths of puppets and marionettes to the music of "High on a hill stood a lonely goat-herd..."

"David and CB Loftin do their, now-traditional, 'Karnak the Great' routine at St. Mark's Annual Talent Show."

"Betty McKee sings racy 'torch' songs at the Annual Talent Show."

"The crowd begins to gather for the 'Big Show,' Saint Mark's Annual Talent Show is both a fund-raiser and a time for laughter and community-building. This year's Show raised over $1,000 for our general operating budget."

"Cathy Yarbrough and her father relax for a moment after mowing part of St. Mark's beautiful thirteen-acre, wooded setting. Caring for our property is both a joy and an on going responsibility for St. Mark's members."

"Father Scott Lee, our previous Rector, greets members of the congregation and guests following each service. This is a time for catching-up on news and for making arrangments for more private conversation during the week."

"This last photo is of our Coffee Hour. This is an informal gathering time for conversation and refreshments following the 10:30 am service. St. Mark's is a casual, friendly place welcoming all who are searching for community and purpose."
