The New Kid on the Block

In case you’ve wondered who that person is who’s been spending time near the altar on Sundays, allow me to introduce myself.  I’m Linda Nye, a seminarian at Sewanee, and I am thrilled to be spending my Field Education time with all of you at St. Mark’s.   I am grateful for the warm welcome and support I’ve received since I have been here!

I am from the Diocese of Western North Carolina, and my home is in Shelby, NC, west of Charlotte.  My husband, Steve, is still in North Carolina, taking care of things at home so that I can complete my studies in the School of Theology.  Keeping him company are our cats and dogs (four of each!).  Our other kitty, Lucy, has joined me in Sewanee, and I am happy to have a family member with me!  Completing our family is Meredith, a senior in college, who has lived with us for the past nine years.

It is such a blessing to have the opportunity to learn and prepare for my future ministry in this wonderful parish.  I’m thankful for Battle’s guidance and patience, and for the kindness you’ve all shown me.  St. Mark’s is a very special community, and I am so happy for the opportunity to worship, work and serve alongside you as we all continue on our journey of faith.

Peace,

Linda
